Clontarf Academy students get an inside look at mining in Kalgoorlie
Students from The Clontarf Foundation’s Goldfields Academy had the chance to explore the mining industry and learn about career options with a recent visit to Northern Star Mining Services (NSMS) Kalgoorlie Operations.
A group of 23 high school students got a taste of underground mining in a virtual reality mining truck simulator. They also learned about different career paths within NSMS.
The students also went on a tour of the KCGM Super Pit and took part in emergency response simulations to understand safety procedures.
It was a great experience for the students to get a first-hand look at mining operations and an understanding of the roles and careers available in the Goldfields region.
