The NSMS Maintenance team services more than 100 pieces of heavy machinery, including jumbos, long hole drills, loaders, trucks, graders and support vehicles — all of which are the latest models with leading edge technology. Our tradespeople are given a variety of training and development opportunities, including on-the-job, OEM and external formal qualifications. The NSMS maintenance system ensures a consistent approach across all projects for unparalleled equipment reliability and performance.

The NSMS Safety team are professionally recognised trainers and assessors that ensure our workforce is equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to complete their roles safely and to a high standard. We work to identify experienced employees in operational positions that show the attributes that translate well into a career in safety and/or training. Suitable employees are provided on-the-job and formal training to attain the necessary qualifications. NSMS has a standardised safety management system across all of our operations, built upon decades of experience in the highly competitive underground mine contracting sector.
